uMshwathi Municipality hosted a matric exam prayer on 25 October 2022, at Cool Air Hall in ward 7.
The Honourable Mayor, Cllr Mandla Zondi encouraged the learners to dedicate themselves to their school work as they would reap the rewards of their hard work in the future. He further thanked all stakeholders who attended the event. Among them were all Councellors of uMshwathi Municipality led by Honourable Speaker Councilor Sibongile Mbatha-Ntuli, SGB , Teachers unions SADTU and NATU, Faith Based Organization, Teachers , Principals and Curcuit managers led by Chief Education Specialist Mr Thulasizwe Mvubu.
The bonus was the attandance of Honourable MEC for Education in KZN, Ms Mbali Frazer who also conveyed words of support to the uMshwathi matriculants. Mayor of uMshwathi , Cllr Madla Zondi promised all Matriculants who will do best on their results will recieved awards to take place on February next year 2023. ‘Not all learners attended the event, but we worked with Principals to select 15 learners per school, as the municipality had provided one taxi per school, considering the capacity of the hall as well’ said Sibusiso Mkhithi.
MEC Mbali Frazer advised learners to pay more attention on their books and stop focusing on social networks as they can have bad influence and inturupt their performance.
